Alekhine's Best Games of Chess, 1908-1937

My Best Games of Chess, 1908-1937

This is just a 'heads up' to a classic book that I really think has had a great impact on my chess.

This book has probably had the greatest impact on my chess improvement. Alekhine's annotations are simply unbelievable. So enlightening.

I wanted to get to 1800 as a casual chess player, unrated at the time. One guy told me all that you need to get to 1800 was this Alekhine book and the Polgar brick tactics book. I bought them both and worked with them. I also did other things and had other help, but the end result was unrated to 1800 (first chess tournament aged 35/36) in a few years. I believe this book was the core of that shift.

Here is the link to the edition you need:

www.amazon.co.uk/My-Best-Games-Chess-1908-1937/dp/193649065X/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=alekhines+best+games&qid=1577667549&sr=8-2

I had my best tournament result ever at a time when I was studying that book.
Is there a .PDF anywhere that I can read so I don't have to actually buy it?

Cuz I've found a PDF of the Polgar tactics book, the one with like 5334 puzzles
As I suspected, the archive version is in descriptive notation, just like the two-volume Dover paperback set on my shelf.
😉
Why is it that you have to borrow it or have to wait while others 'borrow' it, isn't it online?
@V2chess It's a virtual library. I like to borrow books I don't purchase even if they can be found on the Internet in pdf form irrespective of copyright protection. I'm old-fashioned that way. ;D
