Lichess Puzzle algorithm

Hey I would like to know the current algorithm for puzzles that are assigned to a player, its kinda getting on my nerves now.

When doing puzzles I normally get all easy puzzles/puzzles way below my tactics rating. This results in my rating barely increasing, and sometimes I get one of these easy puzzles wrong, and my rating tilts. I don't really ever see harder puzzles, not sure if that's a result of me getting easier puzzles wrong. Looking back, before a tactics rework here on lichess I remembered you used to be able to select between 3 different difficulties of puzzles, easy medium and hard. Is it possible if you guys could improve this so we players can select the difficulties of puzzles?

I would much rather do puzzles on chess.com these days, but I don't wanna pay for unlimited puzzles, and so I'm limited to 5 a day. I think puzzles and the new puzzle rush modes on chess.com are much more attractive to players than the tactics here on lichess in my opinion, with the only problem being that you have to pay there.

Improving puzzles here would most likely result in a higher chance for players to improve in tactics and attract more people.
I'd like to be able to specify the difficulty of the puzzles as well....
@AugustGWest yes thank you, glad to see I'm not alone about this.

It is quite frustrating, because I want to solve a lot more harder puzzles, even if my rating for tactics can't be consistently around that rating level.
Still no attention from developers/mods?
:(

i'm wih 1900/2000 and i'm getting puzzles always between 1700/2300. they seems ok, at least for me.
"sometimes I get one of these easy puzzles wrong"

And that's why you want harder puzzles? Keep doing tactics and you will get fewer easy ones.

Somewhere around my 5,000th puzzle (id=80000) I started to see fewer "sac, sac, mate" or "trap the queen" puzzles and more tactics which I might be able to find in my own games.
I'm with Toadofsky here. Back when I was at my puzzle peak I usually got fairly hard puzzles which I would have had trouble spotting in game had I not practiced as much. I rarely saw those easy ones that you get when you have 1500-2000 in puzzle rating, and it was more focused on subtle ways to improve your position to be able to trap pieces.

With your rating around 1800 (give or take) I'd say that you have an okay chance of getting what you would like to call a "hard" puzzle. Their ratings work the same way as our ratings do, they increase when we (the players) get them wrong, and the lower when we do solve them, which means you should get some tougher ones, and some easier. You could say that they're like other players in this case.
My challenge here is that I'm in agreement with #1 (most puzzles don't have two candidate moves; they're easy provided that you can find the check or capture or queen trap) but unless puzzles are allowed to have multiple solutions (or retry on good moves which aren't the solution), I don't see what can be done.

Here's a puzzle I just got:
@Toadofsky If the problem is that sometimes you can pick an answer that's as good or better than the current best move if you take the next few moves into account (and if we're not prepared to entertain multiple correct answers) then perhaps the solution is to allow the player to make a few more moves in such cases to arrive at this as-good-or-better position.
