Stockfish Engines Ratings?

I've been playing with computers lately to prepare for a tournament and used stockfish level 5. The number in () is 2092. What does that number mean? Surely it does not mean the rating equivalent. The point is that I just beat Stockfish level 5 and I did not think I was THAT good. Like 2000 rating good. If someone could just give a summary of how these engines on lichess.org work I would be much grateful.
It's probably a matter of time controls. If I remember correctly, Stockfish only searches for a maximum interval of time (usually). This interval is fixed across time controls; Stockfish thinks for the same period when you play bullet as it does when you play really long games -- this prevents the analysis servers from being overloaded. Since most people play blitz and bullet against Stockfish (at least so far as I've seen), I would assume the rating would be disproportionately skewed toward its bullet play ability.
I have the same opinion by some reason their number is higher than the play, today i have played agaisnt stockfish level 5,
misclicked wanted to play against level 6 and look

I like to play against a computer because Im a slow player
and I like to relax I usually dont like the tension of the clock,
but It has some shortcomings, I think if you play computer you should play level 7 or level 8 as computer is only good at "top" play it does not mimic well bad play, inferior plans
because when humans play bad chess is still dangerous chess.
So its not easy to train with computers unless you want to play agaisnt strong machine, even at top level play, grandmasters not necessarily go for a grinding solid style and might put you in a very uncomfortable position which a computer will never play and will go for a simple one, so I have no idea what they do at the top level, how they train with computers but our level computer does not play well the 1500-2000 range for example or the 1000-1500, is bad programmed, you dont get the equivalent human play, you can usually tell that you are playing a machine.
So you should play against humans its the typical advice but I think its the good one, I like playing against computers for openings for example, I like to resign in the middle of the game, I like to feel the position I am usually not interested in completing the game, just want to feel the position, maybe is laziness or analysis, I analyze instead of play, whatever works for you.
ah thank you andonuts, so thats the reason, the blitz as usual.
Stockfish is really strong but the Lichess servers seem overloaded as it plays well below the stated ratings.
Download the latest Stockfish engine and use it with a chess interface like Arena or SCID vs PC etc. On a PC, SF can be de-rated and even then it definitely does not miss that a piece is attacked like the Lichess online version.
#1 I'm working on calculating more accurate/intuitive ratings for Stockfish, although for the last month I had computer problems so my calculation has been a bit delayed...
