filtering on the translations page

I think the translations page is brilliant, it makes it so simple to help with the translations.

I have a feature request though; I think it would be great if there was an option to filter. So within seconds you can find the all the occurances of a specific word. Which makes the translation even easier.

If you find an odd word you can fix all of the occurances of that word.
This feature is already implemented by your browser. Press Ctrl+f.
That's how I did it so far. Doesn't give me overview, but it's better than nothing. What I envision works like "grep" where you only see the matching lines. What do you think, Thibault?
I'm not sure incremental search would add a lot to the experience, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt either. That said, the majority of its functionality is indeed covered by Ctrl+F.

What I'd be more keen on is a way to tag certain strings and break them up into categories. It worked marvellously for the FreeCol project at http://freecol.sourceforge.net/. They basically split their messages into 'essential', 'places' (e.g. 'San Juan') and 'non-essential'. It encouraged more translations as there wasn't an overwhelming amount to deal with (they have over 2000 strings), and also ensured that the most important strings in the game receive constant attention. Attention is important in translations, because to produce a good user experience, the jargon of a program must remain as consistent as possible. Such a system would aid translations reach this goal, too. MediaWiki takes a similar approach, though it has far too many categories for the approach to work quite as effectively. Nonetheless, is better than having no categories either way.

I'd happily go through each string and tag them all into categories myself, like a 'core' category and various other ones. I think it would also allow for a lot more translations to be deployed, because there's always the fear that putting up too many translations will deter translators from sending in their translations. Finally, they could have custom descriptions per tag; especially the mobile one.

This is all just a pipe dream, but it's my pipe dream. :)
